Sensor Ardubot Workshop at Lady K. C. Roy memorial School, Ranchi

Posted by on Jun 22, 2014

Ardubotics conducted two robotics workshops over eight days at Lady K. C. Roy Memorial school, Ranchi. In the first workshop, students of class 6th and 7th learnt the basics of electronics, programming and Arduino. They performed experiments like blinking multiple LED bulbs, sounding buzzers and controling DC motors from the computer using Arduino. After that they made an autonomous robot that followed their instructions.

In the second workshop students of class 8th and 9th learnt the basics of sensors like light sensors, infrared sensor and accelerometer. They learnt how to measure the intensity of light using a light sensor and used it to make a burglar alarm. After that they used the light sensors to make a robot that follows a beam of light from a torch. Thus the students learnt how to control different electronic components using Arduino and make smart projects and devices.

More than 160 students took part in the workshop and made 50 robots. This is the first time a workshop was conducted at such a scale in a school in Ranchi.
